Cookie Policy

What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website asks your browser to keep. They let a site recognise the same browser on a later page or a later visit. This policy covers revisory.com.
What we use them for
We use cookies for one thing: to count visits and see which pages people read, so we know what is worth writing and what needs fixing. We do not use them for advertising, and we do not sell or share what they collect.
We do this with Google Tag Manager, which loads Google Analytics. Google processes that data on our behalf.
Nothing runs until you accept
The site loads no cookies and no analytics until you choose Accept in the banner. If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, nothing is loaded and nothing is stored beyond the record of your choice, which stays in your browser and never reaches us.
The cookies we set if you accept
| Cookie | Set by | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Tells one browser apart from another, so repeat visits are not counted as new people | Up to 2 years |
_ga_ followed by our property ID | Google Analytics | Keeps the pages of a single visit together | Up to 2 years |
rv-consent | Revisory | Remembers whether you accepted or declined, so the banner does not ask again. Not a tracking cookie, and it stays in your browser | Until you clear it |
Changing your mind
Use Ask me again at the bottom of this page: it forgets your answer and brings the banner back on the next page load. Clearing your browser’s site data for revisory.com does the same.
Declining stops anything new being collected. To ask Google to delete what has already been collected, or for anything else about your data, write to us.
Other sites
Where we link to another site, such as a vendor’s pricing page in the Software Directory, that site sets its own cookies under its own policy. We have no control over those.
